Create a safety app that makes life in Rotterdam safer for its inhabitants

The plan is to create an app that people of Rotterdam can download on their phones. The app allows you to add up to 15 contacts that you can reach in case of an emergency. This app has GPS that tracks the user movements and when the user feels unsafe during the night or the user being attacked, she/he can open the app and press one button that will send a message to the 15 contacts with hyperlink of the location of the user. This app also allows parents to track their children if they walk to school or go to the grocery store safely. The app also detects the movement of the user and has emergency mode where it asks the user if she/he is okay. If the user doesn't respond in 30 seconds, a massage will be sent to all the contacts and to the police.

Rotterdam is a safe city! However, safety can never be taken for granted! Measures must be taken.Especially for young girls or new visitors of Rotterdam like students. Who dont know the area and at the same time want to go out and have fun at night! As the city empties at night walking home can be really scary especially when criminals walk the street looking for prey to hunt.I believe that this app is useful not for Rotterdam only but all over the Netherlands.
